A library full of e-learning resources for self-teaching and revision. Courses are in topic themes and follow a pattern of introduction, more detail and then practice.

Adult learning needs time and practice.

Research into adult learning shows that we all learn in different ways. Visual learners prefer to watch and may think in pictures. Auditory learners learn best by listening. Kinaesthetic learners get the most from a hands-on approach.

How does adult learning affect psychotherapy?

Our team uses evidence-based approaches to support patients to regain their agency, to build their life worth living. We believe in providing options for our patients to use. This means there are many different skills in the toolkit we offer. Any complex skill – for example, a sport, driving a vehicle – takes time to master.

We’ve listened to feedback and learned that people may find it useful to have a library. Then they can watch, listen or practice again to really adopt the skills for themselves.

HealthyMe™ is our library. It’s full of e-learning resources for self-teaching and revision. Courses are in topic themes and follow a pattern of introduction, more detail and then practice. These include:

Snapshots: These are 2-minute bite-size introductions. They give a quick summary and are handy as refresher.

Digging Deeper: These 10-minute sessions add detail to the topic’s theory. They help everyone to grow their knowledge in that area.

Practically Speaking: These are designed to help learners see the real ways to use these skills. In less than 15 minutes they’ll hear how they work, and how to practice.

If you are a patient attending our practice, you can ask to access HealthyMe™. Please speak to your therapist at your next appointment.
